Booking Your Veterinary Physiotherapy Appointment:

Booking your appointment is easy, and bookings can be made by either the referring veterinary practice or the owner.

Please telephone Olivia on her mobile, 07787572511, making use of the answer service if it cuts in. Every endeavour will be made to return calls the same day, although this may be during the evening. Alternatively you can send a message through this website, by using the contact form.

Vets may send case notes, and referral forms on email to info@vetphysiocentre.co.uk.

Please include client contact details if a home visit is preferred.

Appointments are available Mondays to Saturday and occasional Sundays.

Olivia offers a mobile service for horses and dogs across Dorset, Hampshire and surrounding regions. She also holds regular clinics at Three Cross veterinary surgery in Verwood.​

 

Please note, travel charges for mobile service may apply. Group bookings of two or more animals at the same location qualify for a group discount. Any missed and cancelled appointments will incur a charge.

EQUINE PHYSIOTHERAPY

INITIAL ASSESMENT

80 minutes

The initial assessment is a chance to meet you and your horse for the first time. During our first visit we will discuss any relevant medical history followed by a full bio-mechanical assessment and hands on examination in order to identify any areas of dysfunction, imbalance, restrictions or pain. ​ After interpretation of findings, the most appropriate physiotherapy techniques will be selected in order to tailor treatment to your horse effectively. This may include the use of electrotherapy treatments if appropriate to do so. Full aftercare and exercise advice will also be provided.

EQUINE PHYSIOTHERAPY FOLLOW UP SESSION

60 minutes

These sessions follow on from the initial assessment and will involve a short reassessment of your horses progress, followed by the most appropriate physiotherapy techniques which may included the use of electrotherapy techniques. Full aftercare and exercise advice will also be provided.

POLEWORK CLINICS / LESSONS

45-60 minutes

Olivia is available for both pole work clinics and private gymnastic exercise tuition. These sessions will focus on understanding your horses movement, looking at common problems and giving you some inspiration for exercises you can take home to improve your horses strength and suppleness. Exercises are not overwhelming and can be adapted to all horse and rider combinations. An interesting insight from a Veterinary Physiotherapist's point of view, Olivia has a background in teaching with a friendly, fun and inclusive approach these clinics are suitable for anyone wanting to understand and improve their horses way of going.
